Alaska Counselor CE Requirements and Courses

Alaska Counselors are required to complete 40 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.

Yes! Alaska Counselors may earn 20 hours through CE4Less.

CE4Less is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA), Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), and NAADAC for continuing education.

Alaska Counselors must complete at least 20 contact hours by attending synchronous courses. Check our synchronous options here.

Alaska Counselor licenses must be renewed every two years by October 31st on odd years.

Each renewal period Alaska Counselors must complete:

• 3 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics Boundary Issues)
• 3 hours in Suicidality
• 3 hours in Cultural Competency
