Alabama Social Work CE Requirements
How many hours of CE credit does Alabama require for social workers?
Alabama social workers (all licenses) are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CE from CE4Less?
Yes! Alabama social workers can complete up to 20 hours of the total CE requirement during their 2-year licensing period.

What else do I need to know?
Alabama social work licenses must be renewed every two years by the last day of their month of issuance.
Required / Encouraged Courses:
- All licensees are required to complete 3 hours in Ethics education
- LMSWs with clinical designation and LICSWs are required to complete 3 hours in clinical social work education every two years. (We have over 80 clinical courses to choose from!)
- Additionally, all licensees are encouraged (though not required) to complete a 1-time, 1-hour course in Child Abuse & Neglect education aimed at mandatory reporters
- Supervisors are required to complete 3 hours in Supervision
