District of Columbia Social Work Courses Requirements
How many CEs does District of Columbia require?
District of Columbia social workers are required to complete 40 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CEs from CE4Less?
Yes!
While there is normally a 12-hour maximum for online education, this maximum is currently suspended for the 2023 renewal period (July 31, 2023 renewal).
This means that for the current renewal on July 31, 2023, there are no restrictions on the number of hours District of Columbia social workers can complete through CE4Less –Â all 40 hours may be earned through CE4Less.
What else do I need to know?
All social work licenses expire on July 31 of odd years.
At the time of license renewal all licensees are required to have completed the 40 hours of approved continuing education
