Alaska Social Work CE Requirements
How many hours of CE credit does Alaska require for social workers?
Alaska social workers (LBSW, LCSW, LMSW) are required to complete 45 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CE from CE4Less?
Yes! There are no restrictions on the number of hours Alaska social workers can complete through CE4Less – all 45 hours may be earned through CE4Less.
Alaska accepts courses from any provider approved by the Association of State Social Worker Boards (“ASWB”). CE4Less, provider #1115, is approved by the ASWB to offer social work continuing education. Alaska accepts our courses for CE credit. CE4Less’ courses count as home study. Alaska social workers can earn no more than 12 home study credits per day.

What else do I need to know?
Alaska social work licenses must be renewed by June 30th of each even year.
Each renewal, Alaska social workers (LBSW, LCSW, LMSW) must complete:
- 3 hours in Ethics
- 6 hours in Substance Abuse
- 6 hours in Cross-Cultural Education (including 3 hours related to Alaska Natives)
- 3 hours in Teletherapy Practice
