Maryland Psychologist CE Requirements
How many hours of CE credit does Maryland require for psychologists?
Maryland psychologists are required to complete 40 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CEs from CE4Less?
Yes! Maryland psychologists can complete up to 20 hours of the total CE requirement during their 2-year licensing period through independent study courses approved by the APA.
Maryland accepts courses from any provider approved by the American Psychological Association (“APA”). CE4Less is approved by the APA to sponsor credit for psychologists, and Maryland accepts our courses for CE credit. CE4Less’ courses count as independent study.
What else do I need to know?
Maryland psychologist licenses must be renewed by March 31st. Licenses ending in an even number renew in even years, while those ending in an odd number renew in odd years.
Each renewal cycle, Maryland psychologists must complete:
- 3 hours in Ethics or Risk Management (see our course catalog for other ethics and risk management courses)
- 3 hours in Cultural Competence
Additionally, supervising psychologists are required to complete 3 hours in clinical supervision every two years.
Psychologists involved in perinatal care have a one-time requirement to complete implicit bias training.
