How many CEs does District of Columbia require?
District of Columbia social workers are required to complete 40 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.

What else do I need to know?
All Washington DC Social Work licenses expire on July 31 of odd years.
Each renewal DC Social Workers must complete:
- 6 hours of Ethics (this MUST be done in-person or Live Interactive Webinar)
- 2 hours of LGBTQ Culture Competency (this can be a homestudy course)
- 4 hours or at least ten percent (10%) of their required total continuing education in the domains listed as Public Health Priorities:

- Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Chronic Disease Management
- One Health
- Healthcare Professional Retention and Capacity Building
- Community and Patient Safety
