How many CEs does West Virginia require?
West Virginia Counselors are required to complete 35 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CEs from CE4Less?
Yes! West Virginia Counselors may earn 20 hours through CE4Less.
CE4Less is approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) for continuing education.

What else do I need to know?
Virginia Counselor licenses must be renewed every annually by June 30th.
Each renewal Virginia Counselors must complete:
- 3 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics Boundary Issues)
- 2 hours in Mental Issues of Veterans and/or their families
- 3 hours in Supervision
