New Mexico Social Work Courses

New Mexico social workers (LMSW, LBSW, LCSW, and LISW) are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.

Yes! There are no restrictions on the number of hours New Mexico social workers can complete through CE4Less – all 30 hours may be earned through CE4Less.

New Mexico accepts courses from any provider approved by the Association of Social Worker Boards (“ASWB”).  CE4Less.com, provider #1115, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the ASWB as an Approved Continuing Education (“ACE”) provider. New Mexico social work licenses (LMSW, LBSW, LCSW, and LISW) must be renewed every 2 years by June 30.

Each renewal cycle, all New Mexico social workers are required to complete 6 hours in cultural awareness.  CE4Less offers a three-course series in Culture and the Psychosocial Implications of Socioeconomic Position that satisfies this requirement.  Hours earned beyond the 6-hour requirement may be applied to the overall requirement.  A full listing of CE4Less’ cultural competency courses is available here.

Licensees who supervise LMSWs are required to complete 3 hours in administration.  To qualify, the course used must be submitted for approval prior to completion.
