Kentucky Counselor CE Requirements and Courses

Kentucky Counselors are required to complete 10 hours of approved continuing education annually.

Yes! There are no restrictions on the number of hours Kentucky Counselors can complete through CE4Less – all 10 hours may be earned through CE4Less. Required content must be approved by the board. Counselors can find the board approval form (Continuing Education Course Application) here.

CE4Less is approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) for continuing education.

Kentucky Counselor licenses must be renewed annually by October 31st.

Kentucky Counselors must complete:

• 3 hours in Domestic Violence within 3 years of initial licensure. Note: This course must be approved by the board. Licensees can find the board approval form here.
• 6 hours in Suicide Sssessment, Treatment, and Management within the first 3 years of initial licensure and every 6 years of licensure thereafter. Note: This course must be approved by the board. Licensees can find the board approval form here.
• 3 hours in Kentucky law regulating professional counseling every 3 years of licensure. Instructors must be licensed in Kentucky. CE4Less does not currently have a course that meets this requirement.
