Oregon Social Work CE Requirements

Oregon’s CE requirements vary based on the license held:

• LCSWs are required to complete 40 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years
• LMSWs are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years
• RBSWs are required to complete 20 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years
• CSWAs do not currently have a continuing education requirement

Yes! Regardless of your license type, there are no restrictions on the number of hours Oregon Social Workers can complete through CE4Less – all required hours may be earned through CE4Less.

CE4Less is approved by the American Psychiatric Association (APA), Association of Social Worker Boards (ASWB), National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), and NAADAC to provide continuing education.

Oregon accepts our courses for CE credit. CE4Less’ courses count as home study.

Oregon Social Work licenses (LCSW, LMSW, RBSW, and CSWA) must be renewed every 2 years by the last day of their birth month.

Each renewal period, all Oregon LCSWs, LMSWs, and RBSWs must complete:

• LCSWs
  • 6 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics Boundary Issues)
  • 6 hours in Cultural Competence
  • 2 hours in Suicide Risk Assessment, Treatment, & Management
• LMSWs
  • 4 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics Boundary Issues)
  • 4 hours in Cultural Competence
  • 2 hours in Suicide Risk Assessment, Treatment, & Management
• LMSWs
  • 3 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics Boundary Issues)
  • 3 hours in Cultural Competence
  • 2 hours in Suicide Risk Assessment, Treatment, & Management
