Nevada Requirements for Social Work License Renewal
Nevada LSWs and LASWs are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every two years. How many CEs does Nevada require?
Nevada’s CE requirements for social workers vary based on the license held:
LSWs and LASWs are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education credit every 2 years.
LCSWs and LISWs are required to complete 36 hours of approved continuing education credit every 2 years.
Can I take my CEs from CE4Less?
Yes! There are no restrictions on the number of hours Nevada social workers can complete through CE4Less – all required hours may be earned through CE4Less.

What else do I need to know?
Nevada social work licenses (LSW, LASW, LCSW, and LISW) must be renewed by every 2 years by the last day of the licensee’s birth month.
Each renewal cycle, all Nevada social workers (regardless of license type) must complete:
- 4 hours in Ethics (CE4Less offers a number of ethics courses that may be used to satisfy this requirement, including Ethics & Boundary Issues and Ethics & Telemental Health)
- 2 hours in Suicide Prevention and Awareness
- 2 hours in Cultural Competency and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (NEW for cycles beginning January 1, 2023)
Hours earned beyond the specified requirements above may be applied to the overall requirement.
