Pennsylvania Substance Abuse Counselor CE Requirements and Courses

Pennsylvania Addiction Counselors are required to complete 40 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.

Pennsylvania Addiction Counselor licenses must be renewed every 2 years by licensure date.

Each renewal period Pennsylvania Addiction Counselors must complete 3 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics Boundary Issues).

A person licensed or certified to practice in any health-related field under the jurisdiction of the Department of State Pennsylvania must complete 2 hours (3 for initial licensure) in child abuse recognition and reporting.
