How many CEs does North Carolina require?
North Carolina social workers (LCSW, LCSWA, CMSW, CSWM, and CSW) are required to complete 40 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.

North Carolina social work licenses (LCSW, LCSWA, CMSW, CSWM, and CSW) must be renewed every 2 years by June 30.
North Carolina social workers must complete at least 4 hours in ethics education during each 2-year licensing period.
