How many CEs does West Virginia require?
West Virginia MFTs are required to complete 35 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CEs from CE4Less?
Yes! West Virginia MFTs may earn 20 hours through CE4Less.
CE4Less is approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) for continuing education.

What else do I need to know?
Virginia MFT licenses must be renewed every annually by June 30th.
Each renewal Virginia MFTs must complete:
- 3 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics Boundary Issues)
- 2 hours in Mental Issues of Veterans and/or their families
- 3 hours in Supervision
