Louisiana Counselor CE Requirements

Louisiana Counselors are required to complete 40 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.

Yes! Louisiana Counselors may earn up to 10 hours through CE4Less.

CE4Less is approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) for continuing education.

Louisiana Counselor licenses must be renewed every two years by June 30th.

Each renewal period Louisiana Counselors must complete:

• 3 hours in Social Work Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics Boundary Issues)
• 3 hours in Social and Cultural Foundations
• 6 hours in Diagnosis
• 3 hours in Telehealth (LPCs previously approved to practice Telehealth)
• 3 hours in Supervision (Board approved Supervisor only)
