How many hours of CE credit does Illinois require for psychologists?
Illinois psychologists are required to complete 24 hours of approved continuing education every two years.

What else do I need to know?
Illinois Psychologists licenses must be renewed by September 30th of each even year.
During each renewal cycle Illinois Clinical Psychologists must complete:
- 3 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics & Boundary Issues)
- 3 hours in Diversity
- 1 hour in Implicit Bias
- 1 hour in Sexual Harassment Prevention
- 1 hour in Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias (once every 3 renewal periods)
- 1 hour in Cultural Competence (for a full listing of all available cultural competence courses, see here)
Prescribing Psychologists must complete an additional 20 hours of continuing education in the subject of pharmacology.
