Illinois Psychologist CE Requirements

Illinois psychologists are required to complete 24 hours of approved continuing education every two years.

Yes! There are no restrictions on the number of hours Illinois Psychologists can complete through CE4Less – all 24 hours may be earned through CE4Less.

Illinois Psychologists licenses must be renewed by September 30th of each even year.

During each renewal cycle Illinois Clinical Psychologists must complete:

• 3 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics & Boundary Issues)
• 3 hours in Diversity
• 1 hour in Implicit Bias
• 1 hour in Sexual Harassment Prevention
• 1 hour in Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias (once every 3 renewal periods)
• 1 hour in Cultural Competence (for a full listing of all available cultural competence courses, see here)

Prescribing Psychologists must complete an additional 20 hours of continuing education in the subject of pharmacology.
