How many CEs does Illinois require?
Illinois Counselors are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CEs from CE4Less?

What else do I need to know?
Illinois Counselors licenses must be renewed by March 31st of each odd year.
Each renewal period, Illinois Counselors must complete:
- 3 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics & Boundary Issues)
- 1 hour in Cultural Competence (for a full listing of all available cultural competence courses, see here)
- 1 hour in Implicit Bias training
- 1 hour in Sexual Harassment Prevention
- 1 hour in Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias training (once every 3 renewal periods)
- LCPC’s only 9 hours in Clinical Supervision Training (upon second renewal, this is a one-time requirement)
