How many CEs does Montana require?
Montana Social Workers are required to complete 20 hours of approved continuing education every year.

What else do I need to know
Montana Social Work licenses must be renewed annually by December 31st.
Montana Social Workers must complete 2 hours of suicide prevention (for the first renewal and every two years thereafter)
The Montana Board of Behavioral Health no longer approves sponsors or courses. Licensees must choose CE that meets the professional education objectives established in the CE requirements.
20 hours are required each licensing period.
If a licensee completes more than 20 hours of CE, excess hours in an amount not to exceed 20 hours may be carried forward to the next year.
