Texas Marriage and Family Therapist CE Requirements

Texas MFT’s are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.

CE4Less is approved by the Association State Social Work Boards (ASWB) American Psychological Association (APA), and National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).

Texas MFT’s licenses must be renewed every two years by the last day of the licensee’s birth month.

Each renewal cycle, Texas MFT’s must complete:

• 6 hours in (see our courses in Ethics)
• 3 hours in Cultural Competency (see here to choose from all of CE4Less’ cultural competency courses)
• 2 hours in Technology-Assisted . Our courses Telehealth for the Treatment of Serious Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorders and Telemental Health Practice meet this requirement.

Additionally, licensees who provide direct patient care must complete a human trafficking course approved by the state during each renewal period. CE4Less does not currently offer this course but check back regularly as this course will be added soon.
