Florida Social Work CE Requirements
How many hours of CE credit does Florida require for social workers?
Florida social workers (LCSWs and CMSWs) are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CE from CE4Less?
Yes! There are no restrictions on the number of hours Florida social workers can complete through CE4Less – all 30 hours may be earned through CE4Less.
CE4Less is approved by the Florida State Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling (CE Broker Provider #50-10860). Florida accepts CE4Less courses for CE credit. CE4Less courses count as home study, and will automatically report successful course completions to CE Broker electronically.

What else do I need to know?

Florida social work licenses must be renewed by March 31st of each odd year. Each renewal, Florida social workers (LCSWs and CMSWs) must complete:
3 hours in Ethics & Boundaries or Telehealth (alternating requirement – social workers must complete these two courses on an alternating basis each 2-year renewal cycle)
2 hours in Medical Error Prevention
Every third renewal, Florida social workers (LCSWs and CMSWs) must complete:
3 hours in Florida Law and Rules
2 hours in Domestic Violence (CE4Less offers a number of other domestic violence courses – available here)
Qualified Supervisors only: 4 hours in Supervisor Training
