Pennsylvania Psychologist CE Requirements

Pennsylvania psychologists are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.

Yes! Pennsylvania Psychologists can complete up to 15 hours of the total CE requirement during their 2-year licensing period through home study courses.

Pennsylvania accepts courses from any provider approved by the American Psychological Association (“APA”). CE4Less is approved by the APA to sponsor credit for psychologists, and Pennsylvania accepts our courses for CE credit.

Pennsylvania Psychologist licenses must be renewed by November 30th of each odd year. Each renewal cycle, Pennsylvania Psychologists must complete:

• 3 hours in Ethics (CE4Less offers a number of ethics courses that may be used to satisfy this requirement, including Ethics & Boundary Issues and Ethics & Telemental Health)
• 1 hour in Suicide Prevention

For each renewal Pennsylvania Psychologists must complete 2 hours (3 for initial licensure) in child abuse recognition and reporting. A free course is offered by the University of Pittsburgh’s Child Welfare Resource Center that can be accessed at https://www.reportabusepa.pitt.edu/

Continuing education hours earned in these topics in excess of the requirements above may be applied towards the total CE requirement.
