Nevada Psychologist CE Requirements
How many hours of CE credit does Nevada require for psychologists?
Nevada psychologists are required to complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CE from CE4Less?
Yes! Nevada psychologists can complete up to 15 hours of the total CE requirement during their 2-year licensing period through home study or distance courses.
Nevada accepts courses from any provider approved by the American Psychological Association (“APA”). CE4Less is approved by the APA to sponsor credit for psychologists, and Nevada accepts our courses for CE credit. CE4Less’ courses count as home study or distance courses.
Our Unlimited Plan is a great option for psychologists who want to satisfy their online-eligible continuing education requirements for one low price! Check out our options here.
What else do I need to know?
Nevada psychologist licenses must be renewed by December 31st of the year in which they expire.
Nevada psychologists must complete at least 6 hours in ethics education during each 2-year licensing period. CE4Less offers a number of ethics courses that may be used to meet the requirement, including our APA Ethics Code course, Ethics & Telemental Health, and Ethics & Boundary Issues. Nevada allows courses used to satisfy the ethics requirement to be taken by home study, but requires that the courses used be either (i) approved by the board, or (ii) approved by the APA. CE4Less is approved by the APA to sponsor continuing education for psychologists, and Nevada accepts our courses, including our ethics courses, for home study credit.
Nevada psychologists must also complete at least 2 hours in evidence-based suicide prevention and awareness. CE4Less offers a comprehensive course in Suicide: Assessment, Treatment, and Management that satisfies this requirement.
New for renewals after January 1, 2022, Nevada psychologists must also complete at least 2 hours in cultural competence and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
For more information, please contact the Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at (775) 688-1268, see their website (available here) for additional information about your license or renewal requirements, or see Nevada’s rules and regulations relating to psychologist licensure and continuing education.
