How many hours of CE credit does Connecticut require for social workers?
Connecticut social workers (LMSW and LCSW) are required to complete 15 hours of approved continuing education per year.
Can I take my CEs from CE4Less?
Yes! Connecticut social workers can complete up to 6 hours of the annual CE requirement through home study courses.
Connecticut accepts courses from any provider approved by the Association of State Social Worker Boards (“ASWB”). CE4Less, provider #1115, is approved by the ASWB to offer social work continuing education. Connecticut accepts our courses for CE credit. CE4Less’ courses count as home study.

What else do I need to know?
Connecticut social work licenses must be renewed by the first day of the licensee’s birth month each year.
Connecticut social workers must complete 1 hour in Cultural Competency each year. CE4Less offers a number of other courses in cultural competency (available here). Choose the course that best fits your individual interests and practice areas! While Connecticut does not review or approve continuing education courses, any course with ASWB accreditation will be accepted.
Additionally, 2 hours in mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans must be completed every 6 years. CE4Less offers a course in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for Veterans and Military Service Members with PTSD that satisfies this requirement.
