How many CEs does Connecticut require?
[Connecticut requires at least 2 hours in Ethics for recredentialing. Connecticut also allows 124 hours for initial credentialing to be obtained by way of distance learning. Of the required 360 hours, 240 hours must be specific to substance abuse. Of these specific hours required, they allow distance learning to be used as follows: 60 of the 90 hours in counseling theory/techniques; 9 of the 18 hours in pharmacology; 15 of the 30 hours in assessment and treatment planning; 6 of the 12 hours in cross-cultural, special populations, and minority groups; 3 of the 6 hours in HIV/AIDS; 6 of the 12 hours in ethics. 25 of the “other” 120 hours can also be obtained by way of distance learning]
