Maine Marriage and Family Therapist CE Requirements

Maine MFTs are required to complete 55 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.

Yes! There are no restrictions on the number of hours Maine MFTs can complete through CE4Less – all 55 hours may be earned through CE4Less.

CE4Less is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) to provide continuing education.

Maine MFT licenses must be renewed every 2 years by the date of issuance.

Each renewal Maine MFTs are required to complete 4 hours in Ethics (See our courses in Ethics & Telemental Health and Ethics Boundary Issues)

There is a one time requirement: 12 hours of coursework in family or intimate partner violence must be completed by the first renewal/initial renewal.
