Oregon Psychologist CE Requirements
How many hours of CE credit does Oregon require for psychologists?
Oregon psychologists must earn at least 40 CE credits (hours) during the two-year period immediately preceding the renewal date (every 2 years).
New Licensees (licensed less than one year) are not required to complete any CE until after their first renewal.
Can I take my CE from CE4Less?
Yes! Oregon psychologists can complete up to 20 hours of the total CE requirement during their 2-year licensing period through home study courses.
Oregon accepts courses from any provider approved by the American Psychological Association (“APA”). CE4Less is approved by the APA to sponsor credit for psychologists, and Oregon accepts our courses for CE credit.
Our Unlimited Plan is a great option for psychologists who want to satisfy their online-eligible continuing education requirements for one low price! Check out our options here.
What else do I need to know?
Oregon psychologist licenses must be renewed every two years by the last day of the birth month of license-holder. Licenses that end in even numbers renew in even years, while licenses that end in odd numbers renew in odd years.
Each renewal cycle, Oregon psychologists must complete:
- 4 hours in Ethics (CE4Less has several ethics courses that may be used to satisfy this requirement, including our APA Ethics Code course, Ethics & Telemental Health, and Ethics & Boundary Issues), and
- 4 hours in Cultural Competency
- 2 hours in Suicide Risk Assessment, Treatment, and Management
- 1 hour in Pain Management (provided by the Oregon Pain Management Commission (“OPMC”))
For more information, please contact the Oregon Board of Psychology at (503) 378-4154, see their website (available here) for additional information about your license or renewal requirements, or see Oregon’s rules and regulations relating to psychologist licensure and continuing education.
