How many CEs does Iowa require?
Iowa MFTs are required to complete 40 hours of approved continuing education every 2 years.
Can I take my CEs from CE4Less?

What else do I need to know?
Iowa MFT licenses must be renewed every two years by September 30th on even years.
Each renewal Iowa MFTs must complete:
- 3 hours in Ethics (including Ethics & Boundary Issues and Ethics & Telemental Health)
- 3 hours in Supervision (Supervisors only)
Mandatory reporters who regularly work with children and/or dependent adults must also maintain the applicable Iowa HHS abuse-reporting training: initial 2-hour training and thereafter 1-hour recertification every 3 years for each applicable category.
